Nijland Cycling BV, having its office at Telgenweg 12 in (811 CM) Heeten and registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 38020120, values your privacy. Nijland Cycling BV acts, under circumstances, under the name Cargo Cycling, which in such cases will be expressly named.

We are engaged in developing and/or manufacturing all kinds of bicycles. As part of our work, we come into contact with personal data. We comply with laws and regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG), when processing this data. This statement explains what data we store, for how long and how we protect your personal data. The statement applies to all users and customers of the website and/or services of Nijland Cycling BV.  

  1. What are personal data?

Article 4 from the AVG specifies what information is covered by the term "personal data. It is any information about an identified or identifiable natural person. This means that information is directly about someone, or can be traced back to this person. Think of a name, address, place of residence, telephone number or zip code with house number. Camera images and/or sound recordings are also personal data within the meaning of the AVG. Furthermore, the AVG mentions special personal data, involving - for example - race, religion or medical data. These are data that deserve extra protection.

If we collect and use your personal data, it is usually because you are a (potential) customer of ours. In this case you have left personal data to get in contact with us or to stay in contact with us. We also process personal data of the contact persons of our suppliers. Finally, we process your personal data when you apply for a job with us or work at Nijland Cycling.

Clarification: to ensure personal contact, we ask for your name in the contact form. In addition, it is necessary to process your e-mail address and phone number so that we can get in touch with you. We only process this data when you give us permission to do so.

Clarification: when you send us an e-mail, we will receive at least your e-mail address and your name. We may also process other personal data that you send us. By sending an e-mail, you give us permission for this processing. We recommend that you only send us the information necessary to answer your question. If you enter into an employment contract with us, we will process a further set of data. For example, we will then process: your nationality, ID proof, place of birth, citizen service number, bank account number and marital status.

Note: We process this data because it is necessary for the execution of the agreement.

We do not disclose your personal data to third parties without consent, unless required by a provision of law or if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary. If we deem it necessary to share your personal data with a third party, we will ensure that no more data is ever shared than is necessary in the specific situation.

We keep your data carefully and no longer than is permitted under the legal retention periods, or - in the absence of legal retention periods - no longer than necessary.

We are committed to taking the most appropriate organizational and technical measures to secure the personal data present against any form of unlawful processing, theft and/or loss.

An example of an organizational measure is that only authorized employees of Nijland Cycling may view your data. These employees only have access to your personal data to the extent necessary to perform their duties and have a duty of confidentiality regarding your personal data. If data has been provided to third parties then they have signed a processing agreement, which states what the data is received for, may be processed for and how they are to handle it.

With respect to our processing of personal data, you have several rights:

If you wish to exercise any of your rights the following applies. You can exercise your rights free of charge and can do so by sending an e-mail to info@nijland.com. If we are of the opinion that the right of access is being abused, we will charge you for the costs incurred. We aim to respond to requests made to us within one month. We may refuse your request, but we will always give reasons for doing so. If you disagree with our decision, you can always submit it to a competent court.

Despite the measures taken and those that will continue to be taken, it is possible that others may unlawfully obtain your personal data for improper purposes. This situation constitutes a data breach. We urge you to report this via info@nijland.com so that we can take immediate action. When a report is made, as little personal data as possible is requested from you. The data we process is used to verify the report, investigate it and possibly report the outcome to you.
